Cars play a major role in Grand Theft Auto 5 because the protagonists have to move a lot around the city to complete missions or just have fun. Finding the right car, however, might take you an hour worth of time and hundreds of thousands of in-game dollars. Modifying your vehicle doesn’t affect the exterior, yet sometimes you want a little extra. Like a custom license plate, for example.
There’s only one way to change your license plate:
- Download the iFruit app on your smartphone (must have either Android or iOS).
- You can only create 30 custom plates.
Both your game account and your smartphone must have internet connection. Launch the app and choose Los Santos Customs. Click “ABC” to create a custom license plate and order it. If you did everything correctly, you’ll get a text from Los Santos Customs once you’re in the game. Then go to any LS Customs shop to get your plate.
The same goes for the multiplayer mode. If you want to use a different license plate every day but don’t want to manually change them all the time, you can just get a few similar cars and put different plates on them.
