Speeder is a high-speed motorboat with a four passenger capacity, manufactured by a non-existant finctional in-game Italian Pagassi company, which parodies such real Italian automobile firms, as Lamborghini, Pagani и Ducati.
Pegassi Speeder appeared in a good old Grand Theft Auto III for the first time, it was the fastest boat present in the game, but with each new game in the GTA series it was losing it's positions one by one, and it completely disappeared from GTA 4 and GTA 5. Luckily for GTA fans, Rockstar brought the legendary boat back in October, 2013 in the "Beach Bum Content Update", released as a part of 1.06 patch. Visually Speeder is a typical sport "cigarette" boat, and it's painted in ligh-brown colour, alluding to it's old age. It's look is likely to please fans of vintage vehicles.
The boat Pegassi Speeder is the second by speed water craft among presented ones in GTA 5, rivalling only with Shitzu Jetmax. Having a weight of 2.5 tons (2400 kilograms, to be more precise), Speeder achieves amazing speed of 133 kilometres per hour for a very short time lapse, and manoeuvrability-wise it doesn't fall behind to it's Japanese rival Jetmax. By the way, when comparing Pegassi Speeder and Shitzu Jetmax, it would be wise to point out the obvious advantage of Speeder - it is amount of passenger seats, which is exactly two time more than the one of Jetmax. Also Speeder is much less likely to have it's top and down switched. But, traditionally, all new content in GTA 5 costs much more than their stronger counterparts in default game, so does Speeder - it costs more than Jetmax - $325000.
New, yacht variant of Pegassi Speeder was added to the game as part of the "Executives and other criminals" update. The new version has no differences in characteristics. Only the color scheme has been changed. Also, the novelty has its own model.
The real-life prototype of Pegassi Speeder is Riva Aquarama (1962-1996).
