Duster is a civilian propeller aircraft/biplane, engineered and manufactured in a far 1930s-1940s by a non-existing in the real world in-game American company Western, which parodies such aviation-building companies as Bell Helicopter, Boeing and Sikorsky Aircraft.
Western Duster represents a biplane, designed for, as the name suggests, spraying different fields of agricultural cultures with pesticides. Though Western Duster itself is not an exclusive aeroplane for Grand Theft Auto 5 and it didn't appear in any other part of the GTA series, it's twin brother figured in GTA: San Andreas under the similar name Cropduster, and also there was a non-agricultural variant of it in GTA: Vice City Stories, named Biplane. Duster appears in-game mostly in a complete red or black paint jobs. When characters are piloting this biplane, they wear distinctive glasses and leather hat, usual for first half of the past century.
As it was already mentioned, the Western Duster plane was manufactured in 1930s-1940s, and that means that you shouldn't expect it to have any kind of outstanding characteristics. Dusters is, more likely, an antique exhibit, only collectioners may find it useful. Western Duster is the slowest by speed and also the slowest by acceleration airplane in-game. Also it requires a relatively long runway, as it take approximately seven seconds for it to take-off. Among pros of the plane there is a manoeuvrability, which is a typical for biplanes. In the multiplayer of GTA 5 it can spray pesticides, however it makes no effect to players or pedestrians. You can buy Western Duster for $275000 on the www.ElitasTravel.com website.
Western Duster is the copy of another biplane Boeing-Stearman Model 75.
