GTA 3 for 2 years on iOS and Android

2 years ago, on 15th December 2011 occurred release of Grand Theft Auto 3 for iOS and Android. One day the game was released on both OS around the world. Dedicated to the tenth anniversary of GTA III porting was only the start of releases of the good old parts of series Grand Theft Auto for mobile devices: next year came out GTA Vice City, and this year coming out GTA San Andreas. Is it a commercial trick, hidden symbolism or something else, but releases versions of the games for mobile devices Rockstar Games does in December only.
